Dublin Airport Arrivals
US Border Preclearance
Dublin Airport is ranked as one of only two airports among Europe to have the United States border preclearance services and facility for US-bound passengers. Passengers traveling via non-stop flights to the United States should complete immigration and customs procedures at Dublin Airport before their scheduled departure, and they are treated as domestic passengers upon arrival.
Dublin Airport Customs
All passengers at Dublin Airport are required to pass through Customs and Immigration controls. These control procedures at DUB are fully maintained and managed by the Border Management Unit (BMU), which tends to be under the directorship of the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service (INIS) of the Department of Justice and Equality.
Dublin Airport Immigration
EU arrivals and non-EU arrivals at Dublin Airport must proceed to Immigration controls.
EU arrivals
If a passenger’s journey was entirely within the European Union, he/she should use the blue channel after baggage reclaim. DUB Customs officers monitor all EU arrivals. If a passenger has something to declare to Customs, must go to the redpoint.
Non-EU arrivals
Once a passenger has reclaimed baggage, he/she will need to clear customs. Within the Customs Hall, Duty and tax-free allowances are provided. Non-EU arrivals should use the red point to declare goods (commercial) in excess of the allowance. The green channel should be used only if a passenger has nothing to declare. Note that the blue channel should not be used.
