London City Airport Transportation
Train
The train system of the airport allows fast and convenient services to the city center of London via the Docklands Light Railway (DLR). This effective railway system includes direct links to the Tube network in the city center of London through interchange stations like Stratford, Canning Town, and Bank.
DLR trains operate from City airport to the city center of London approximately every 15 minutes or less and take about 22 minutes to reach the tube network in the center.
The price for a single DLR train ticket from City airport (zone 3) to the Bank DLR station located in the city center of London (zone 1) is €5.10 (£4.50).
Tickets can be purchased at the DLR station from the ticket counters or automated ticket machines.
The Docklands Light Railway station can be found inside the facility’s terminal. Passengers should follow the marked signs that indicated ‘DLR.’
Taxi
The black cabs of London city airport are always ready to provide commuters with quick and comfortable services. A taximeter calculates the taxi fare from LCY to the downtown area of London based on distance and costs around €40 (£35) during the light traffic. The approximate travel time to the city center takes about 30 minutes.
Passengers should remember to always look for the classic white plates on the bumper and the official windscreen license sticker before getting in an LCY taxi.
Commuters should also note that many private taxi agencies provide fixed fares when booking a ride in advance.
