Sitka Rocky Gutierrez Airport Departures

Check-in & boarding cut-off times

When passengers check bags on their flights, they have to make sure that all of their checked luggage is processed, as well as a valid boarding pass is received no later than the required cut-off times to avoid rebooking on a later flight.

Travelers should also consider that these cut-off times will not ensure that they make it to the departure gate in time for boarding. Busy security lines, as well as heavy passenger traffic, may also require additional time.

When traveling with carry-on luggage, passengers must be checked in, with a valid boarding pass no later than the minimum cut-off times to avoid rebooking on a later flight.

Cut-off times are the same regardless of whether passengers are with or without bags.

When traveling internationally, the necessary cut-off time is one hour. In the case of domestic flights, the cut-off time of 40 minutes is enough.

TSA

Transportation Security Administration is responsible for developing policies that are aimed to protect passengers while implementing security measures that minimize possible terrorist threats. Mostly concerned with air travel, the organization has its officers at Sitka Rocky Gutierrez Airport, where TSA agents are in charge of checking travelers at the security checkpoints. All the commuters have to go through screening and other necessary TSA procedures that include checking luggage separately. The TSA processes at SIT airport are not much different from those that are used at the majority of different airports.

Check-in options

There are several options to pass through the check-in procedures, and passengers are welcome to choose according to their preferences.

When commuters are traveling with a paper ticket or need some additional assistance with the check-in process on the date of departure, the customer service representatives are always available to help get passengers going with an in-person check-in. However, travelers should note that checked baggage is only accepted within 4 hours of their scheduled departure.

Ticket counters operating hours are indicated below.

Checking-in online

Bypassing the check-in process online, customers can skip the check-in line at the airport and just head straight for the required gate.

However, passengers should consider it is essential to print out a boarding pass at least one hour before the scheduled departure time.

Kiosk check-in

Travelers can check-in by using the check-in kiosks that are located at all of the airports throughout the Alaska Airlines system.

Self-service kiosks are available at the terminal’s lobby located near the ticketing area.

Check-in with apps

By using an app that is available for both Android and iPhone, passengers can book their flights, check-in, and even check their flight status.
