Southampton Airport Airport Services

Help point

Commuters are welcome to use the help point to view live flight updates, find facilities on an airport map, or receive information about local accommodation and transport.

The help point can be found in the main concourse, between arrivals and departures. Next to it, passengers will also find a tourist information touch-screen terminal. In case of requiring further help, travelers should look out for representatives of friendly Airport Ambassadors who will be happy to help.

Internet access

A complimentary 4 hour Wi-Fi service is available throughout the terminal and can be accessed through any internet-enabled mobile device on _Free SOU Airport. After the first 4 hours, passengers can choose to pay for extra time by using debit/credit card or PayPal. Prices are £3 /1 hr, £5 / 3 hrs, £9 / 24ZZ hrs, £70 / 6 months, £130 / 1 year.

Internet-connected PCs operated by Virgin Wi-Fi are accessible opposite the help point (before security checkpoint) and on upper levels of the departure lounge (after security checkpoint).

If passengers need power for their laptop, desks in the departure lounge are offering plug sockets, as well as the space to work, and instructions on connecting. The Globe and The Olive Tree both have power sockets for travelers’ convenience.

Lost property

If commuters dropped items while being at SOU, they should go to the lost property counter available by the check-in area.

For any items left on arriving flights, passengers should contact the lost property department. In case of discovering of leaving an item on the departing trip, travelers are advised to contact the lost property at their destination airport.

Passengers should note that a £5.00 service and storage charge per item is applicable for items not collected from the lost property counter on the same day that they were handed in.

Smoking areas

Due to the U.K. law, smoking is not allowed inside the airport buildings. A designated smoking area can be found conveniently available outside the terminal, on the central forecourt. However, passengers will not be able to smoke once they have passed through a security checkpoint into the departure lounge.

The use of electronic cigarettes is also not permitted within the building. Commuters are allowed to use electronic cigarettes outside of the terminal before security checkpoints only. Onboard aircraft is subject to individual airline policies.
